In Layman's Terms

No doubt you've seen style switchers on other pokemon sites, but none of those sites has the customizability of pokemonfan.net's style switcher. Basically our style switcher on pokemonfan.net allows you to do two things. First, you can select from a nice range of different layout designs. Or you can choose to customize your own layout! Just select your colors, choose your background, and click apply! It's that simple.

How much do you expect Heart Gold and Soul Silver to be changed from the originals?

TCG

The Pokemon TCG has been around in North America since 1998, and in Japan since 1996.  The pokemon tcg possesses a well organized system to allow for competitive play, something I would wish would happen for the video games.

The Pokemon TCG was originally published and released by Wizards of the Coast, who also release several other prominent card games, but in 2003 they lost the license and as such Nintendo and Pokemon Inc. took over licensing and distribution.

Annually, there are both Regional, State, and National championships across the United States as well as tournaments elsewhere around the world.  Recently the United Kingdom was given a National championship which was open for all in the UK.  The World Championships are usually held at the end of the summer, in July or August and are exclusive invites only.

Pokemon Organized Play was created to be in charge of all of the 'league events' across America, as was Pokemon Card Laboratory in Japan.  The PCL actually seems to possess the ability to make rulings and changes for anywhere in the world and can overrule POP.

As organized play for the Pokemon TCG has developed over the years, POP has developed the Swiss style modified format of play for almost all major competitive events.  This involves certain rules and methods for determining pairing.  In addition to this, the modified format maintains a select list of cards which are playable in tournaments, which usually consists of the 8 or so most recents sets.
